This porcelain tulipiere has an earthy feeling with accents of bright turquoise glaze. These pieces are very tricky to make: the clay must be at the perfect state of wetness to attach, and dryness to not collapse and hold up the weight as the loopy coils are carefully placed. The slightly cattywampus look gives it character! Turns out one of the top loops fell into the vase during firing and fused there. No harm done, hence the reduced price for this beauty!

With the body in earthy shades of green, the turquoise openings allow for beautiful small arrangements of fresh garden bouquets. Porcelain decorated while still wet clay with stamps, and then glazed and fired to cone 6.
